Literally!

Ferries cancelled from this afternoon and on Thursday and Friday too. All schools closed too!

Cue the panic buying of milk and bread.

The power went off at 7.55 this morning, just as I had put on the kettle to fill up a couple of flasks ! Bugger!

Predictions of severe weather didn't materialise down here. A little windy and quiet cold but no rain or snow storms like they suggested, and wind not strong enough to cause any damage.

We've had quite a bit of snow - a couple of inches - which is unusual for the island.

No snow but very very cold. Minus 8 at Avonbridge ( near Falkirk and very near the shoot) However when I arrived ( Sun 11.30 am ) the sun was out and it was surprisingly warm. Didn't last long but welcome none the less.
